The Airplane Project

After a visit to the Pima County Air & Space Museum and AMARG (309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group) at the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona, It felt like a childhood dream. You could walk to the famous DC 3 or Air Force 001 you had seen on TV during many historical moments. At AMARG, The variety and quantity of aircraft parked at the dessert presented a monumental exhibition of form and history at an unprecedented scale. For this personal project, I used color to define the form and add more drama to these magnificent flying machines. These aircraft show us our planet from above and give us a different perspective from our day-to-day grounded eye level.
