in this collage what interested me was using copies (mechanical copies) in repetition contrasted with the words of a poem, (a singular composition) similar to the copy vs an original. The copy being the serial repetition of the ring, cut from an advertisement, and an original creation the poem itself. Throughout my career i have been interested in the idea of copies, vs the notion of the original. I good deal of my work i have used copied and mechanical such as photocopies and silk screen mixed and composed with painting. Since my graduate studies and my thesis on the use of appropriations which often uses mechanical reproductions. How it is used and how it can be made over to say new things
