Inspiration During the corona virus pandemic I was thinking a lot about belief. Being in isolation really got me thinking about the world I am living in and my experience of it. I was thinking about the function of society and its Beliefs and the distribution of news and how's this shapes human behaviour and how it captures a Moment in time. During this time nature became more dominant in my life, no longer could I hear planes in the sky. It also got me thinking about all the people who passed on and made me reflect upon my expreince of my own family members passing. Its surreal that we experience this life for a short time and then we go back perhaps to the source of creation. Perhaps this life is a testing ground to teach us. I would like this painting to be a reminder of A moment in time. Information about this artwork Medium: Collage of newspaper cutouts, white gloss paint, acrylic paint, and medium on canvas. I am a multimedia artist based in Somerset UK creating ceramic sculpture and painting. Why do I create art? Through art, I am able to step back and breathe in the beauty of exploration and self-discovery. Art provides me the freedom to explore my human potential and my desire to keep learning about myself and the world around me. What inspires me? The ancient monument Stonehenge, located not too far away from my studio, serves as a constant source of inspiration. The towering stones beckon me to question the mysteries of, belief, spirituality, time, space, the nature of reality, society and the human experience. What is my Art? I channel these ideas into my art. The results are unique and quirky, colourful, vibrant with a hint of depth, engineered with attention to detail, a study of the effects of form, colour and light. It is Abstract and Surreal, reflecting the world we inhabit and partly escaping it. When it comes to materials I don’t like to limit myself. For my sculptures I use a verity of clays, vibrant colours and glossy glazes. My paintings uncover an amalgamation newspaper, colourful oozing acrylic paints, reflective varnished surfaces and unconventional household paints. The sky is the limit! My Mission? My mission is to create art that can enhance, add value and uniqueness to any space or home. I would like it to transport you to a place of curiosity and imagination.
