Abstraction, 2009 Steel and collage on masonite 70x44 cm x 4 No archive. 167 “Abstraction” is a metal artwork, or better on monogramo steel and aluminum, copper and lead. Generated by a continuous inexhaustible and vital, new materials research, dictated by the idea that art support is always covered and the objective is make the support itself the protagonist, creates drawings with perforations, removing material, or by adding it with collage. An artwork that belongs to a tendency of an extremely rigorous abstract, accompanied by definite expressionist notes, marked by vibrant colors, furrowed with sharp and ferrous markings. An clear execution which are never taken for granted, making them an incessant and vital part of the subject. The attention addressed to unexplored space, the rarefied and mysterious atmosphere, mean only one thing, the search space, the search of the beyond - what we do not see. Pierce, rip...., to put it simply, if you are at home, indoors, you have to open the window to see out. “Abstraction” an immediate relationship with the observer and with those who stop themselves to "read" its essential forms built with energy and subtle musicality that runs through the entire work.

Antonio Saporito is a contemporary Italian artist based in Turin, Italy, with numerous accolades recognizing his distinctive artistic vision. His works have been exhibited widely in Italy and internationally, including in museums, foundations, Italian Cultural Institutes, Artissima, and more. Saporito's unique artistic style has attracted the attention of some of Italy’s most respected art critics, such as Paolo Levi, Gian Giorgio Massara, Vittorio Sgarbi, Angelo Mistrangelo, Guido Folco, Luciano Carini, Massimo Centini, and Giulia Silato. THE GEOMETRIC SPATIALISM The geometric spatialism is the Saporito's original research. Strongly anchored to material, this one, cut, shaped and perforated with surgical and geometric rigor, represents the synthesis of Saporito's art. Steel, aluminum, copper and lead are wisely transformed into labyrinths of carved signs to reveal the beyond there is behind the material. The rigor and the essence that characterize his works become elements to transcend reality, to look and scan what exists behind the appearance, in the continuous search of the unknowable, of the future, of the unreachable mystery of man.
