Houston, Texas native, Jim Hudek , is a self taught artist. He is a multidisciplinary artist. He makes collage art, mixed media urban edgy to pop art and abstract paintings. Whether it's working in acrylics on canvas painting abstract expressionist paintings, or works in mixed media consisting of torn pieces of scrap paper and magazines applied to canvas or wood panel cradles, he is always making something new. Sometimes mixed media collage work is combined with other mediums such as paint, markers and screen print. Creating images that evoke a style of nostalgia using iconic images of pop culture. Mixed media work is resin coated for a more refined look. Magazine collage art is coated with acrylic varnish.
