"F. Gaze" is about women. and collage. This series is the result of a process that carries forward various practices and various inspirations born over time, which have overlapped each other. In my analogue works the need to eliminate a detail has taken me over time to operate independent cuts disregarding the object. My obsession with precision has led me to meticulously cut out any element, this could be the virtuosity of the collage artist, one of the proofs of his technical skills along with his patience. Often what I found most interesting was the back of the cut-out or the discarded paper, and over time I began to insert these independent cuts and let them determine the rhythm of the artwork. Finding my source of inspiration in flowers, which then began to be an obsession that turned into a stylistic code, a language in the making - I have always preferred to investigate masculinity primarily. Art abounds with feminine depictions and the association with flowers is like "florals? for spring?". Peonies, roses, lilies, anemones, dahlias... they want to be more of a cut. Petals that want to look like paper. Flowers that fade out in colour. The inspiration for this series comes from cinema, more precisely from the concept of "male gaze" developed by Laura Mulvey. Stars of the silver screen merge as in Bergman's Persona, where the various identities generated by artificial intelligence hold in a gaze. As in silent cinema a woman dressed in armor of flowers or a paper burqa observes.

Romeo Madonna (London, 1987) is a collage artist based in Florence where he currently lives and works. A self-taught visual artist, collage - both digital and analog - represents his favorite means of expression, the investigative method of his research and the synthesis of the philosophy underlying his artistic practice. A film student at the Roma Tre University with the aim of becoming a screenwriter, he attended the Accademia di Belle Arti because he was obsessed with engraving and printing techniques. His professional experiences in the field of mixology and luxury retail contributed significantly to defining the traits and themes of his artistic identity, fusing a digital approach with traditional techniques. Visions of time, beauty, identity and death are recurring themes in his works.
