Inspired by mental health & illness, to help continue the conversation. This 36" x 48" mixed media painting on canvas, consists of a combo of 400+ toy animals, soldiers and dinosaurs; inspired by the feeling of not having hope. You don’t know what someone’s going through, even if you’re close. Each light bulb represents a life and are all different from the colours to the combination of toys. The middle light bulb blends in with the dark background to visually represent not having hope, feeling lost. However once exposed to true light and darkness, parts of it glow. This relates back to my roots/routes because of the message it represents. When you struggle throughout your life, it’s a reminder that through those dark times, you can come out stronger than before, so don’t lose hope. Remember, the stars don’t shine without the darkest sky. - Unframed (recommend to leave as is due to the plastic toys) - Includes wire attached on the back of canvas for hanging - Gallery Wrapped Heavy Duty Canvas

Pandora Owl was born and raised outside of Toronto, Ontario. Started her journey, building a career in advertising until she decided to make a leap into following her art passion. Her art focuses on mental health & illness in order to help comfort those who suffer from it as well as exposing it to those who don’t. She leverages mixed media in order to tell her stories, often referencing her youth by incorporating items such as comics and or toys; a style she developed in her art class back in high school. Her textured mixed media art has many layers that can be seen and felt but most importantly ignite and continue the conversation of mental health as it’s increasingly making its way to the forefront.
