I STARTED TURNING INTO A STRIPPER Collage

The absurd and the incongruous fascinate me. This piece is inspired by a story in a glossy magazine about a celebrity who found herself turning into a stripper. In isolating the headline I try to elevate the words into simple typographic pleasure.The meaning behind the story becomes irrelevant and it is then up to the viewer to imagine the original narrative and also what headlines could possibly be written about one's own life in this sense. The words set upon a textured series of torn posters from my home town of Brighton provide a visual juxtaposition of colour, surface texture and scale which I hope the viewer will find eye-catching as the original headline was intended to do.
