Caroline's collages are recognisable for their distinctive and stylised imagery. Her work is informed by the real and the imaginary and her training in textile and architectural glass design is evident in her use of pattern and colour. Her cut out shapes are often inspired by nature and natural forms and she endeavours to create a sense of movement in her compositions by layering and highlighting the negative spaces between the shapes. Drawing is an important part of the process, as is experimentation with colour and form to create vibrant and energetic artworks. Caroline gained recognition for her distinctive architectural glass. She undertook large scale commissions for public and private spaces and meet the Queen with her work in 2011. However it is the hands on, simple and traditional technique of paper cutting and collage which she finds most gratifying, using just a scalpel, paper and adhesive to create contemporary and original images
