ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Collage; a painted, collaged and stitched piece on a painted linen background. Laguna Suena means "Laguna Dream", and I often think of the spectacular coastline and water of Laguna Beach, California. I spent around 25 summers here when I lived in Southern California, and the memories are indelible. This began, as most of my textiles do as a hand-painted length of fabric; in this piece it is linen. Collaged vignettes are stitched and there is topstitching throughout. Linen is extremely long-lasting; the dyes used are colorfast.
