This artwork is created on recycled felt. It is a Textile art piece and the background is a collage of black fabrics with the words ‘no no no’ all over it. Amy Winehouse is also created from various different fabrics and her tattoos are embroidered and painted. She is wearing a vintage Mickey Mouse T Shirt and is as she always was, very sticking. The highlights of her hair are created with vision safety material and they really shine. It is framed within two sheets of glass and has a floating effect.

I am a contemporary textile artist born and raised in London. My interests and experience working as an artist go back many years. I have worked as a graphic designer as well as owning my own business as a mural painter and furniture designer. My work now is mixed media, mostly created on recycled felt. I like to use vintage fabrics whenever possible, paints, pens, gold leaf and hand embroidery. I love every minute of what I do and I am extremely passionate about creating my pieces. I call them paintings with fabrics and threads. The subjects I choose are often from music, film or the art world, but just a tiny scrap of fabric can be a catalyst for an entire image.
