Hello
My name is Audrey and I'm a young french artist from Strasbourg. I've been drawing portraits since I was a child as I'm fascinated by faces.
Before making painting for a living, I worked as a fashion journalist on a blog called Fashion Does it Better and my work consisted in introducing new faces to my audience and it was my job for a living. I stopped the blog in 2011 as I didn't like some aspects of the fashion industry. I'm still passionate about fashion photography, and photographers like Steven Meisel, Tim Walker, Helmut Newton among others are a big source of inspiration for my work. My favorite artists are Ernst Ludvig Kirchner and all the painters from Blaue Reiter and die Brücke, Egon Schiele, Modigliani, and they made me want to start to paint. Among the contemporary artists, I love Karen Kilimnik, Patria Derks, Elizabeth Peyton, Gill Buton, Helen Verhoeven, Chantal Joffe, Aurélie Piau, Hervé Bohnert, Winston. Chmielinski.
