Ge(Lucia) Zhou was born in the border area of Heilongjiang Province in northeast China. She worked in southern China and Zambia in Africa for many years. Now she has immigrated to Canada in North America. She has experienced a colorful yet difficult and bumpy life. Ge(Lucia）Zhou has not been influenced or constrained by conservative traditional art education, nor has she been influenced by any contemporary art school. She uses pictorials and magazines that can be found everywhere as creative materials. She also digitally prints them according to the size and content, and then creates them by cutting and pasting. For her, this creative method can best give full play to her imagination and quickly present her artistic concepts. The "Worlds Elsewhere" series of works is a personal world hosted by artist Lucia Zhou, which seems to be related to our world, but is also different. She pays attention to all the problems in this world, especially those that destroy our own problems and survival, as well as human conflicts and national conflicts among people. There are also many doomsday scenes that appear in her mind after this complex and chaotic world enters her dreams. During the long creative process, it goes without saying that she has already mastered the materials and tools to perfection. Her works use endless images that carry huge social information, making them colorful visually and bizarre in content, especially conveying to the viewer's intuition and feelings of repression, desire, struggle, doubt, etc. Ge(Lucia） Zhou’s uniqueness lies in the fact that her artistic creation is not based on artistic purposes, but rather the materialization and image presentation of her spiritual world. These are her non-cultural and non-religious personal beliefs, her means of self-spiritual healing, and her way of life.
