Born to create. Inspired to elevate. Growing up in Birmingham, Alabama, Daniel’s ability to draw was discovered at an early age by his teachers and parents. As a kid, he began to enhance his drawing skills by analyzing and studying the techniques of various works of art that he came across. After residing in Birmingham for ten years, Daniel relocated with his family to Fort Dix, New Jersey. His love of art and drawing continued throughout middle school and high school. In 1998 he enrolled in the Art, Advertising, and Design program at Burlington County Institute of Technology in Medford, New Jersey. As an artist, Daniel tends to absorb everything around him and manifests it through his artwork. Music, people, places, and memories serve as his catalyst to create. Daniel’s background in architecture and design also plays a pivotal role in some of the art that he creates. Daniel received a Bachelor of Architecture from Louisiana Tech University. When he’s not busy designing buildings by day Daniel is honing his skills with the paintbrush on canvas by night. In 2021 Daniel won the Field Street Staircase Design Competition, a contest that was held by The Perot Museum of Nature and Science in partnership with The African American Museum Museum of Dallas and Kroger to honor and recognize Black leaders in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Daniel’s winning design was titled “GIANT STEPS - Celebrating Extraordinary Achievements of African-American Leaders in STEM.” In 2021 Daniel was listed in the Saatchi Art Special Edition NEW VOICES: 100 Artists Who are Changing the Conversation and in 2023 and 2024 Daniel was named one of 25 Black American Artists to Watch by Saatchi Art. Daniel currently has artwork in the collection of art collectors across the country. He has shown his work in local art galleries such as Pencil on Paper Gallery, Oak Cliff Cultural Center, and 500X, and art exhibitions such as ART214, Dallas City Hall Mayor’s Office Exhibition, and The Other Art Fair Dallas. Daniel and his work have been featured in Patron Magazine, The Dallas Morning News, Glasstire and on news networks such as DFW NBC and Fox 4 News.
