About The Artwork
This work was inspired from the movie "The Artist and the Model". I tried to capture Mercè (Aida Folch) as she sat for the sculpter in the movie. Painted on black 1/4" foam board. I apply black gesso to both sides before starting. Then I glue the book pages on, in this case pages from a book on Toulouse Lautrec. I apply clear gesso on pages after that. When all dry I begin with back ink and use ink for color along with acrylic and watercolors.
