This was my first attempt at this type of art, and I did this in 2008. It was quick and easy, and I fashioned it after a pose I always sketch when doodling. At first, she didn't have a name, but when friends saw it, they'd always ask if it was me. I finally decided to call her "Suzanne" after all, a...

Drawing and painting since the age of six, I have always been involved with art in one way or another. My mom (Arline Wagner) is an accomplished artist as well as my brother (Neil Blender), and their successes with their art have been inspirational for me. As a senior in high school I was super lucky to have been awarded two scholarships to the Pasadena Art Center College of Design where I got to attend four hour classes on Saturdays throughout the school year where we would draw from live models wearing costumes or bathing suits. It was probably one of the funnest art experiences that I've ever had, and it was a great intro to life drawing. Initially, I wanted to be a fashion illustrator, but I got sidetracked with this and that. Over the years I have taken a variety of classes ranging from drawing, painting, ceramics, and printmaking to stained glass, photography, computer graphics, and art history. And although I’m more of a graphic artist after years of classes, and doing freelance work, I have recently gotten back into fine art with my mixed media fabric women, and my part-time obsession of photographing all things having to do with liquid and light.
