....

Yellowstone volcano is a beast! Referred to as a super volcano, it has an underground magma chamber 55km long and 6 miles deep.

It is capable of producing an eruption so large that the entire global climate could be affected. It may just throw in a mini ice age for good measure. The geological equivalent of the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, it's a truly mind-blowing phenomenon, last erupting about 640,000 years ago and pitching a colossal 240 miles of cubic debris into the sky!

Yes, that is indeed capable of shrouding the vast majority of the USA. The rest is pre-history.

Alongside all of that potential carnage, it's rather spectacular to look at, and the hot spring pool that forms the colourful backdrop of this image was a natural pick for a reptile's eye. No other geological landmark deserves the allegorical association with a dragon more than this monster! Unlike the dragons of mythology, this animal is far from extinct, shifting around on a regular basis with swarms of seismic activity.

The largest recent quake was recorded in 2014, making Yellowstone prime fodder for doom-laden media prophesies, and an area of fascination for me.

I hope this piece imparts some of the incredible energetic potential of this place.

“My armor is like tenfold shields, my teeth are swords, my claws spears, the shock of my tail a thunderbolt, my wings a hurricane, and my breath death!” - J.R.R. Tolkien
