ARTIST STATEMENT My practice unfolds from the photograph, exploring the tension between what is visible and what is unknowable, using found images to interrogate memory, meaning, and representation. I see photographs as symbols of the absurd—they gesture toward meaning, yet always withhold it, and when removed from their original context they become fragmented objects that invite both interpretation and uncertainty. By re-contextualizing and altering these images, I challenge both their meaning and ability to represent, I disrupt their familiarity, letting ambiguity shape the viewer's engagement. This disruption keeps the image in motion—unresolved, suspended between presence and absence, past and present. In embracing the fragmentary and the unknown, I aim to create a space where the photograph resists closure, remaining perpetually open to reinterpretation. This ongoing tension invites a dialogue between the viewer, the artwork, and the spaces of absence and uncertainty it evokes. Through my work, I aim to reflect the complexities of memory, the instability of representation, and the interplay between what we seek and what we can never fully know.
