The beauty of sun rays in a wood inspired me when I made this triptych. I created the composition by making a drawn sketch, which I translated then in this mixed media glass work.
I hope the viewers will feel a sense of peace and harmony, like when walking in a wood on a sunny day. But also that they let their imagination go wherever it takes them, by viewing this work.
This is a mixed media work.
Materials used: copper, copper stains, paint, goldleaf, on the glass and rice paper as the protective layer. The gold leaf creates a beautiful high-gloss surface and enhances the blue stain colors in the piece.

I hope the viewers will feel a sense of peace and harmony, and that they will let their imagination go wherever it takes them, by viewing this work.

Size of the work: 50 cm x 100 cm x 0,4 cm
The 3 parts of this triptych can be framed or can be displayed in stands. Signature is engraved in the 3 glass panels.

My name is Myriam Thomas. I live and work in Belgium. As a glass artist I am fascinated by common narratives and their importance for the making of collective identities.
