About The Artwork

This is part of a collection inspired by the faces of African people to reflect their struggles, strife, and persistence during a very hard time in history. They are post-colonial abstractions of the post-colonial African people to capture their expression during a very tragic time. This abstraction also introduces other aspects of my work.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I am a mixed media artist who uses original African fabrics and newsprint as a major element in my art, the African fabrics are used to show my identity as an African and also give an insight about my subject matter or narrative as it concerns issues regarding the African continent and the diaspora, the newsprint at the other hand, I use to seek texture and also make social commentary. Both the fabrics and newsprint put together creates a feeling of dynamism to the viewer. However, my subject matter and narrative as mixed-media artist center on historical, social, cultural issues that concern Africa in regard to cultural syncretism, identity issues, culture clash, and pride. My art sort of activism regarding the problem and issues faced by the continent of Africa which draws backs to pre-colonial and post-colonial history in reference to the setbacks it has caused for Africa today. I’m creating a new world on my canvas, a world where I can tell striking issues and narratives regarding the African society, my art is sort of activism against colonialism, slavery, and migration as these are the major causes of the crisis which Africans all over the world face and I am doing this through Afro-futurism which is the reimagining of a future filled with arts, science, and technology seen through a “black” lens.
