My endless fascination with the world we inhabit had led to my interest in pursuing a Masters in 'Art in Science'. During which I discovered a wonderful mix of anatomical and botanical images from various sources, often archived in museums and libraries. As a result of researching, collecting images and ideas that inspired me, I blend these narratives into my collages. This piece is intricately layered with the anatomy of the human arterial system as a focal point, in which life flourishes from it. Beauty, symmetry and the play with order in chaos create the composition of this collage. I have often looked at works by the Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch, inspired by his surreal scenes that evolve around a central object/theme. I have hidden symbols and images within the layers to be found, just like the scenes in Bosch's paintings, I hope the viewer can discover something in them each time.
