About the Artist
Sharon Skipper
I am an artist whose work is about life. Mental illness also plays a
part. Some of my art is from a book I wrote at the age of 26. The
begining of the book is about the strain of a relationship written in contemporary art. The end
shows the begining of my symptoms of schizophrenia. The illness started
at the age of 27. In the middle of writing the book before my
schizophrenia, I would lay in bed at
night hearing acute voices, I would jot them down. The first painting
of the voices is shown online. Before the book, works of collages and
paintings, life and my life. After the book I went on to
write, draw and paint everything down about and what I went through
with my schizophrenia, hallucinations and voices also along with spirituality. My spirit Male guides in life whom guide me. My work consists of
drawings, collages, paintings, photos, writing, video and loads of ideas
for installation work.
