Vicenc Marco

About the Artist

Vicenc Marco

Spain

Vicenç Marco is an abstract digital artist based in Barcelona. His work explores the traces of time, the transformations of matter, and the beauty that emerges from processes of wear and decay.

Through photography, textures, everyday objects, typography, and digital techniques, he creates compositions in which organic and geometric elements coexist. Rust, eroded surfaces, fragments, and marks left by the passage of time become part of a distinctive visual language, where objects are valued less for what they are than for the traces of their transformations.

His relationship with art began in the early 1970s, through black-and-white photography, drawing, and painting. He later studied at Escola Massana in Barcelona, where he discovered graphic design, a discipline to which he devoted more than forty years of his professional life. His interest in composition, typography, and imagery, together with the introduction of digital tools, eventually converged in his current artistic practice.

Among his artistic influences, Antoni Tàpies holds a particularly important place, especially for his approach to matter, textures, and the expressive potential of humble materials.

His works are created digitally and brought into physical form through Giclée printing on 310 gsm Hahnemühle German Etching paper, in limited editions, individually signed and numbered.

His work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Barcelona and internationally, including at The Gallery Steiner in Vienna.

For Vicenç Marco, an artwork is not a closed image with a single meaning, but a starting point. An invitation to observe, imagine, and discover new interpretations through the fragments, forms, and traces that compose it.
