The images below are a selection from the book “Mountain Secrets, postcards of transformation and reflections of life in the Biobío mountain range.” It is a story, a photographic essay, that proposes concepts in a vast territory such as the Nahuelbuta Mountain Range, from which not only its native hair was taken, but also its landscapes related to the Chilean countryside, immersed in a context of mountains and ancient forests. There are chains of hills and valleys where agriculture and livestock still exist. And there are also plantations with exotic species, which dominate extensive areas where there is no one, and no one lives. Just like loneliness, light filters through the ravines. Silence and indifference can almost be smelled in that frozen air, which brings secrets of things that happened and continue to happen, hidden today in immense dark green cloths placed in repeated and monochrome landscapes. There are also images that may be sufficient or that evoke some trace of a common memory. Some distant knowledge or news of what it was like before. There are colors that have not yet been corrupted. These nuances place the viewer in that other time, which still runs parallel at the highest heights, in territories neither captured nor subjected.
