I am Osama Hussein, a Palestinian artist from Khan Younis, Gaza. I was born and raised in Gaza, a place that carries in every corner stories of steadfastness, suffering and hope. From my earliest years, art has been my window into the world, and my means of understanding complex reality and self-expression. As an artist from Gaza, life here is a constant source of inspiration for me, with all the challenges and dreams it carries. Under sieges, bombardment and conflicts, art becomes a means of survival, not only alive, but also human. Through my actions, I express the internal conflict that every human being lives in on this earth, and about the language of the body, which carries with it untold stories. Art for me is not just lines and colors, but a silent voice that shouts in the face of injustice, asking for change. I aspire to show the world that Gaza is not only a place of conflict, but also home to creativity and dreams. I want the viewer to feel every detail in my work, to reflect on and interact with them, and to realize that art can be an instrument for change, and a means of rebuilding man. Every painting I paint carries with it part of my identity as a Palestinian, of the suffering of my people, and of their steadfastness. I work on translating these stories into works that reflect internal conflicts, focusing on body language that I see as the truest expression of pain and hope.
