Archival fine art giclée print with Diasec® finish. Signed with the artist's name, titled and dated and numbered on the reverse. Edition 2 of 50. ------- The work was made entirely using Adobe Photoshop. The textures, the entire substance of this work were created by me without using photography, scanning – this work is thoroughly original. I work with the accompanying conviction that digital tools should remain transparent to my artistic sensitivity. However, if the issue of workshop, the issue of medium is important to you, you should pay attention to the skill of the workshop, its difference from what you can observe in the world of digital art. The image is not the exclusive property of visual arts, nor poetry, nor music. In its very essence, the image is a medium, it is an autonomous and autotelic medium. Please note that the predominance of physicality is quite illusory, because everything that seems to be physical in reception is available only through impressions, and impressions are undoubtedly not material. Therefore, I think, even my painting, prepared to hang on the wall as an object, exists exclusively in its own space, which should be understood as fuller than the space of exhibition. It seems like a juxtaposition of inwardness and depth. This particular work belongs to a series dedicated to one of my favorite writers, the author of an extraordinary work called Citadelle, It is to this book that my paintings refer.

Jerzy Pietruczuk is a Polish artist working in the field of digital graphics, digital painting and photography. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland. He received his diploma in 1992 in the linocut and woodcut studio of Professor Franciszek Bunsch. He studied painting in the studios of Professor Stanisław Batruch and Professor Jerzy Nowosielski. In 2008 he received his Ph.D. from the University of Silesia in Katowice. He works at the Institute of Art of the University of Silesia as an assistant professor. His work could be described as allusive abstraction, balancing on the border between pure abstraction and representation. In most of his recent works, one can observe an expressive expansion of color in a pointyllism way. ----- I do digital painting, digital graphics and photography. I use digital tools in my artistic work, but for the image it is irrelevant ------- New technologies used as tools of the artist should, in my opinion, remain completely transparent to the artistic sensitivity of the creator, as well as to the idea of his art, the idea of his own place in art, or at least remain in his own deep shadow. ------- I participate in the Image understood as an unlimited current in which the artist joins in order to participate on his own, always temporary terms
