ANGELO MAZZOLENI – BIOGRAFIA / BIOGRAPHY Angelo Mazzoleni was born in Florence, Italy, on June 7, 1952. He began his artistic activity at a very young age, training with established masters and attending advanced courses at the Carrara Academy in Bergamo. He has been exhibiting since the 1970s, both in Lombardy and across other Italian regions. Alongside his artistic practice, he has been active in paleontology, discovering and donating significant fossil specimens to the museums of Milan and Bergamo – including a previously unknown eryonid now named after him: Pseudocoleia Mazzolenii. This deep interest in origins and ancient mysteries strongly nourishes his pictorial research, culminating in the co-founding of the group “Nuova Arte Sincretica,” which promotes a personal, historical, spiritual, and intercultural synthesis of artistic languages. A versatile artist, Mazzoleni has worked for over fifty years in painting, sculpture, and fine art photography, exploring a wide range of themes: from dreamlike macro photography and nature-inspired art to collectible digital creations. His creative journey unfolds in three major phases: A symbolic exploration of origin myths and primal human energies. A search for archetypes of being through material works – often “ovoid” – representing temples, labyrinths, and parallel dimensions in an inter-religious synthesis. The foundation of the Nuova Arte Sincretica movement, documented in exhibitions and official manifestos, with three main creative phases: historical, contemporary (with social themes), and spiritual syncretism.
