Awik Balaian is a professional artist, scenic artist for National Opera and Ballet in Amsterdam and animation/filmmaker based in the Netherlands. His work has fantastic and surrealistic visualizations that show a dream world with some erotic twist in it. In 2003 he graduated from fine art academy ArteZ in Arnhem and the same year started a new education at Film Academy in Amsterdam which he successfully graduated in 2007. Awik has worked on a Dutch movie “Crusade in Jeans” as an painter, illustrated Dante’s Inferno and made music videos and of them for great opera stars Rolando Villazón and Cecilia Bartoli-Rossini: Tirana pour deux voix (Les amants de Séville). The short animation film “Sammy” where he worked as background artist has won several awards in festivals worldwide
