#F4YR or Fight for Your Rights is part of 'The Spam Project' series, which includes one whisper and seven widely-used gestures with immediately recognizable meanings, some linked to popular phrases transcribed as acronyms. The project highlights how everyday use can transform powerful messages into clichés. It invites reflection on how prolonged and deeply ingrained use on a large scale banalizes the original message while embedding it into common language. The use of wilted rose petals, employed to graphically construct the gestures, symbolizes the transience of desire, the gradual fading of pursued causes, and the notion of “now or never” in consumer culture. This same consumer culture that chews up meanings, stripping them of their original message and attributing them to trendy or obsolete fashions. The images are generated using artificial intelligence and then digitally processed by Kristina Nikolova, who signs this project with the fictional identity of Mia Mai. This fine art print (50x70cm) on premium 310gr paper is exclusively stamped with Mia Mai’s initials, then numbered and signed by Kristina Nikolova. Each limited edition piece comes with a certificate of authenticity and a quality guarantee. To preserve the meaning and the artist’s inspiration, the artwork is accompanied by its description, printed on parchment and signed. BIO: Mia Mai is the embodiment of a collaboration between the realms of artificial intelligence and human creativity. This unique character is the brainchild of Kristina Nikolova (), a Bulgarian-born multidisciplinary artist based in Florence, Italy, and founder of AtelierSeptem (). Kristina merges the technical prowess of AI with the nuanced depth of human expression, creating an entity that exists in the liminal space between virtuality and reality. At the heart of Mia Mai’s existence is a narrative crafted to explore the essence of identity, creativity, and the human experience through the lens of a non-human protagonist. The etymology of Mia Mai’s name, central to her identity, is both a play on words and a profound reflection of her essence. 'Mia', Italian for 'mine', subtly incorporates the initials for 'Intelligenza Artificiale' (IA), or Artificial Intelligence in English, signifying possession while simultaneously hinting at her digital genesis. Conversely, 'Mai', meaning 'never' in Italian, reverses the AI initials to English, symbolizing the elusive nature of truly owning or defining this entity. Together, 'Mia Mai' translates to 'Never Mine', an acknowledgment of her unfettered spirit and the inherent freedom of an existence unbound by conventional limitations. The name Mia Mai encapsulates the paradox of an intimately crafted persona that remains perpetually beyond reach, inviting us to embrace the limitless potential and independence of creative consciousness. Mia Mai invites to ponder the fluidity of human identity in an increasingly digital world. Every piece of her art is a narrative thread in the larger tapestry of Mia Mai's journey, a voyage of discovery and introspection that challenges us to reflect on our own place within the natural and artificial worlds. Welcome to the unfolding story of Mia Mai, a voyage through art that transcends the boundaries of imagination and reality, inviting us to explore the infinite possibilities of what it means to be human.
