"Separated Joints" is an evocative display of disconnection within unity. Two lilac-colored rubber gaskets are cut at both their top and bottom, floating against the canvas, symbolizing the paradox of being together yet apart. A heap of rusted nails lies gathered, each one a relic of cohesion now resting in solitary disarray. The gaskets, once meant to seal and secure, now represent open-ended narratives, while the nails, agents of firm attachment, form a chaotic yet poignant counterpoint. This piece is a commentary on the dual nature of connection—how elements intended to join can also highlight the spaces in between.

Vicenç started painting oil on canvas in 1971, when he was only fourteen years old. As Vincent Van Gogh, Vicenç Marco also signs his artworks with the name, Vicenç. Although Antoni Tàpies has been the painter who has influenced his paintings the most, Vicenç has always felt very influenced by impressionist painters, specially for Paul Cezanne. He discovered photography shortly after painting. He started taking only in black and white photos. The black and white negatives and prints were developed by himself. This allowed him to engage in the development process and achieve the desired results. While he studied fine arts at the Escola Massana in Barcelona, he discovered the world of graphic design. He was fascinated by the idea of making graphic compositions with fonts, illustrations and photographs. In 1988 he acquired his first Mac computer, which allowed him to gather fonts, illustrations and photographs in a single support to create any kind of graphic project. Although he has never abandoned the traditional techniques of drawing and painting, nowadays all his works are done digitally. Drawings, typography and photographys continue being the sources in which he bases his artworks. The final artwork is not a closed piece but an inspiration point for the viewer, says Vicenç. He think that each of his artworks are the beginning of a story, a path, a journey that we could do.
