'Mime the Gap' is a humorous social commentary inspired by William's regular travels on the underground. A culture of silence exists, in particular during commuting hours. Quieter than a library, louder than a lorry, this unnatural environment makes him want to scream (a silent scream). How ironic. The unwritten rule of the tube.
