Mariana's eloquent beauty was inspired by the many women of Latin American descent who showed strength and bravery in the face of constant bias, sexism, and discrimination. I hope viewers see the strength and grace it takes to make your existence matter and your voice heard when they look deep into Marianna's eyes. Cultural photorealism excites my creative juices because we get to look into the lives of people who have been ignored, pushed aside, and mistreated. We need to hear their story.
