"Monde Mouvant, 15 septembre 2022-12h53" Artwork - Limited Edition of 5

Reality seems too complex, too confusing. Ideas, images, feelings, remembrances from diverse origins pop up in my mind bringing their burden of confusion. My work aims at finding a way in this chaos, suggesting images that would reconcile me with the surrounding complexity. How did I come to digital art? Chance and contingency appear everywhere in the world. How can I deal with this? As a painter, I had been trying to bring this feeling of contingency to my works. But it is only when I started to use digital tools, coding my own software that I discovered a way to bring randomness at every step of my creation. I use my own drawings as building blocks for my digital work. Then I start with coding for the overall composition and colors of the piece . After that I let randomness work in this structure. The software proposes all kind of arrangements and distortions. I let it run until there is a match between what I see and what I feel. I write down the precise time when this happens. This will be the title of the piece. From the digital file to the printed work is yet an other important step. I have experienced many kinds of printing techniques. For this piece I have selected digital printing on paper (Hahnemühle German Etching 310g) with Ultra Chrome Pro inks which give a stunning and durable result. This one is number 1 in a small edition of 5.
