PURITY, BY YULIA DOTSENKO, 2020. Digital oil on digital canvas (painting on a touch screen computer with a digital pen), printed on archival paper, with full margins, signed, numbered 2/10 and dated in pencil, framed. Limited Edition. Edition: 2 out of 10 (9 Available). Available in two sizes: Size A (image): 90 x 90 cm (35.4 x 35.4 in), Edition of 10. Size B (image): 65 x 65 cm (25.6 x 25.6 in), [Framed: h: 82 cm, w: 82 cm, d: 3 cm], Edition of 10. About the artwork: This artwork explores the rapid recovery of nature and a significant improvement in air quality in response to a substantial reduction of the carbon footprint due to travel restrictions and the industrial slowdown resulting from the coronavirus pandemic. It expresses the hope that this unprecedented experiment will inspire us to seize the moment and move towards a more sustainable future to flatten the carbon emissions curve and to create a high-quality environment around the world. About the Medium/ Techniques/ Print: This artwork is painted freehand on a touch screen with a digital pen and fingers, using traditional oil painting techniques, in layers. Different (digital) brushes with different loads of (digital) oil paint are used to apply brush strokes to a (digital) canvas to achieve the desired effect - from a thick layer of paint to create impasto to subtle modelling. The painting is printed on archival quality cotton paper, using rich pigment inks and conservation materials to maintain its true colours and appearance for 200 years or more. Certificate of Authenticity is included. EXHIBITED: 2020 - CADAF Online (Contemporary & Digital Art Fair).
