I was looking at a Vincent Van Gogh painting of a chair and that inspired the colours I used. I like the freedom of abstract art especially in relation to colour and shapes, but I also like the solidity of figurative art, so this is my merge of these two approaches.

Martin Rayman grew up in Georgetown, Guyana. He studied in UK and returned to Guyana to teach at the University of Guyana. He studied sculpture briefly at the Centro d'arte Verrocchio in Tuscany, but is mainly a self taught artist. He is interested in / has worked in areas of painting, sculpture, science, mathematics, software, design and music. He now lives near the West Coast of Ireland.
