My painting White on Black: Greetings to Kazimir Malevich is a nod to Malevich’s Black Square, but with a contemporary twist. I reversed the concept—black is the backdrop, representing the void, while a white cocaine hill rises on it. In front of the heap, there are three lines of cocaine. Malevich ...

Born 1984 during the last years of communism in Sofia (Bulgaria) into a family of architects, scientists and artists. Both his parents studied at the Academy of Arts in Sofia and specialized in painting and ceramics. Shortly before the fall of the Iron Curtain, his parents flee to Germany. Where he practically grows up in their studio and advertising agency. He is a self-taught photographer and painter. His works include altered photographs, drawings and digital surreal representations. They represent a parallel universe which he says is present in all living beings and things. In this sense, he sees himself as a prism that breaks down his environment into its components in order to approach the core of every living being and thing. He reflects on the post-communist era and deals with people as beings in an economic system that is hostile to them. Bojan engages the complex questions of our time and searches between them for magical moments.
