I am a graduate of Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, BA Graphic Design. After my graduation, I specialized in ecological design and continued my practice within this field. During this period, my concerns deepened around the disconnection in the human–nature relationship, hierarchical structures, and the impact of social and gender inequalities on the climate crisis. Since 2021 I have focused on my art practice as a space for expression and transformation. My practice explores the intersection of ancestral knowledge carried across generations with ecological living. Focusing on themes such as identity, culture, gender equality, social justice, tradition, and the transmission of knowledge, I approach my practice through an ecological lens. I aim to encourage a reconnection with nature and a recognition of our intrinsic belonging to it. My practice is research-based and conceptual, spanning painting, video, digital media, and printmaking. In recent years my main focus has been on the women of Indigenous communities. Despite increasing recognition of their rights, many Indigenous peoples still face challenges in representation, justice etc. At the same time, they are the custodians of ancestral knowledge that has been preserved and transmitted for generations -knowledge that holds vital relevance in today’s ecological crisis. Women, in particular, occupy a central role as both the primary carriers of this knowledge and as individuals subjected to layered forms of discrimination. Through art, storytelling, and cultural expression, I seek to make their heritage visible, and inspire collective awareness. It is my way of honoring and empowering those who have safeguarded this wisdom for centuries.
