She is a Polish-German contemporary artist based on Crete. She works primarily with picture, drawing, instalation. She attended The Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk and Warsaw. Art is the opposite of chaos for her and painting is the most sensitive record of personality, giving her the greatest opportunities for discovery and at the same time the most complete document of her spiritual search and transformation, her attitude towards family, religion, politics, science, nature and tradition. The painting issues, that she explores, strongly relate to tradition which is a constant source of inspiration, both intellectually, artistically and as a workshop. Her studies around the meaning of color deepen her painting and enable the construction of her own aesthetics based not only on psycho-physiological but also psychoanalytical experiences. The selection of the painting means used by her is the ground, the foundation for the content it contains. Scholtysik is the granddaughter of deadly enemies who fought during the II World War on opposite sides of the front line. Next generation, her parents, they loved each other very much and with this love they tried to erase sad past. So, she was raised in the home were fatal past were buried and love flowered. But inside her mind there was something that didn't allowed her to fully identify with people and the place where she lived. And all her life has become a search for places, forms of artistic expression, a search for a way to establish a dialogue with another person through art. She visited many places, met interesting people there, had many conversations, but each time none of these places brought satisfaction. And none of these places become her home. Neither noisy America, nor native Germany or even place in which her adventure with art began - Poland. It wasn't until she settled in Crete that she felt that she had finally found a real home. Crete healed her. A nature, history and people who live here became an inspiration in the next stage of her artistic journey.
