Anita Frei-Kraemer is a Kehl-based artist in Germany at the border to France whose practise encompasses drawing, painting with watercolours and making objects or installations. After studying visual communication and completing with a diploma in graphic design at the university of applied sciences in Bielefeld, she taught drawing in all subjects of arts at volkshochschulen and private institutions. She has participated in various group-shows in Berlin, Freiburg, Gütersloh, Düsseldorf, Strasbourg, France, Solothurn, Switzerland and held solo-exhibitions in Berlin, Burlington, USA, Kehl, Bielefeld etc. She ist leading and curating a private non-profit-gallery since 1992 where she showcases artists from Germany and France. A focal point in her artistic work are drawings. Another are assemblages and, in appropriate cases, there are objects / installations. Her main issue is borderline experiences, both politically, geographically and socially based. Anita Frei-Kraemer carries out processes with different groups of people to their way of life
