About the Artist

Cynthia Octavia Wijaya

Indonesia

Born in Indramayu (Indonesia), October 19, 2004.
Growing up in an art-loving family, made me love drawing since kindergarten. I like to spend a lot of paper from old notebooks, just to pour out all the imagination in my mind. I often draw using pencils, ballpoints, and markers. My skills have developed over time, year after year, I always find differences in every drawings I've made. But after a long time creating with only simple tools, then I started trying to use charcoal pencils and oil pastels. I learned a lot from online tutorials and personal practice, without ever taking any art courses due to financial constraints.

I usually make charcoal, ballpoint, and marker drawings using a scribble style. This is my way of expressing myself. I feel all my emotions are poured out if I start with quick messy scribble, or draw an object directly without a sketch first. This also applies when using oil pastels, but often with neater results. Besides that, I still use pencils to make realistic drawings.

I like to draw angels and human figures (semi-realistic or anime style), so I also like to experiment in creating clothes for the characters I draw. For me it is a pleasure, freeing myself to create various clothing models that I like.

Now I am running a realistic face drawing business (using graphite pencil) that I have started since graduating from vocational high school, while still focusing on creating artwork from my own imagination.
