About The Artwork
The protests in the USA have sparked a plethora of other protests -clearly Europe has not faced up to its colonial past and the legacy lives on. I revisited and further worked on a drawing I had drawn some years before of a black girl who decided to sit for me and drew in the slave ships as I felt the drawing was incomplete without them. Discrimination on the basis of skin colour or other physical characteristics should have no place in a civilised society!
