Blood Chit Drawing

Drew this on deployment. 血幅 "Blood Chit" 8" by 12" Pencil on 100 lb paper P-40 flown by Lt. Col David Lee "Tex" Hill, Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 1938, as a member of the American Volunteer Group (commonly known as the Flying Tigers), 2nd Pursuit Squadron (Panda Bear). Above the fighter plane is a Republic of China (not to be confused with the People's Republic of China) blood chit, hence the title of the artwork. What I am about to say won't matter to 99.9% of you reading this, but it matters to me so I will say it. The most glaring mistake of this artwork is that I drew the plane as a P-40E Warhawk, and not the B model Tomahawk that Tex Hill flew as a member of the Flying Tigers. Most people won't know the difference, but to any aviation enthusiasts reading this, I apologize for my mistake. By the time it was brought to my attention, it was too late to change it. This artwork sums up who I am: American, Chinese, Aggie, Air Force. I haven't felt such a deep connection like this with one of my artwork in a while.
