Bronx Hood Drawing

This is a page from the hot summer streets of my upcoming graphic novel, "The Pollinator's Corridor - Volume II." The story traces the lives of three friends who attempt to convince wild bees and butterflies to cross the Bronx by planting corridors of native flora throughout the inner city. As an artist, this is a landmark piece for me. When I give myself permission create black line drawings I find a certain unlimited spectrum of possibilities becomes available to me, both in depth of field, contour and volume. The piece speaks volumes to the experience of inner city life, and is based directly on my years growing up in the Bronx.
