Max Kerly is a British architectural artist based in London, renowned for his extraordinarily detailed hand-drawn studies of iconic architecture. Working primarily in fine liner pens with touches of 24ct gold leaf, acrylic paint and watercolours. Max’s practice fuses the traditional draughtsmanship with a contemporary artistic blend. His original artworks celebrate the craftsmanship, history and grandeur of the world's most remarkable buildings, transforming celebrated landmarks into timeless collector's pieces.
Each drawing begins on location through direct observation, travel is central to Max’s process with each subject chosen for its architectural significance and lasting emotional impression.
Max's work is distinguished by exceptional precision, patience and a deep appreciation for architectural design.
Many of his larger originals require hundreds of hours to complete, resulting in highly refined works that are both technically accomplished and emotionally evocative.
After studying Illustration, Max travelled extensively across Italy, where the ornate beauty of Renaissance architecture defined the direction of his artistic career. It was there that he developed a lifelong pursuit: to reveal the extraordinary detail so often overlooked, believing that true beauty resides in the smallest architectural elements.
His original drawings and limited editions are held in private collections internationally, and his work continues to attract discerning collectors, luxury interiors and prestigious commercial commissions.
