About The Artwork
Inspired by a visit to Illinois, where I first experienced the call of a cicada. It was deafening but somehow beautiful to me. I was entranced by the little creature, so I created this piece to capture my intrigue. The filigree design in this piece is coated in 24k gold leafing, to add a regal touch to this piece. Painted/drawn on thick mixed media paper. Will require a frame to hang.
