ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Using a black rectangle as the back-drop I wanted the hurdling figures to seem almost sucked away by its presence.. This image came to me from a memory I have as a kid staring at a chalkboard after rubbing my eyes from boredoom. Seeing static and shapes in a carnival themed colorway projected onto that chalkboard was my own passive way of exiting. Two inch white border on all sides.

I Live and work in Seattle, WA and Whidbey Island, WA. There I help run a small flower farm while I am not painting and drawing. I am currently on a three year sabbatical from the Navy and am pursuing another B.A. at Seattle University. My Work is in a transition phase of sorts. The past year I painted nothing but Landscapes in order to gain a better understanding of my chosen medium: oil paint. I have since veered from plein air painting (taught me a lot!) and am going back into commissioned portraits, portraits and figure-based drawings.
