When does chaos become most evident? Not when we are immersed in it but when we are superficially the furthest from it, in the void. As the scale increases though the two antonyms become one another, void turning to chaos through emerging patterns and chaos turning into void as the patterns become homogeneous fields and planes. Thoughts become the most chaotic when we are alone in the void.

Soteris Phoraris was born in Chicago, Illinois. His childhood was spent between the cities of Chicago and West Lafayette, Indiana. After living as a young adult in Cyprus he returned to West Lafayette to study Fine Arts at Purdue University and was awarded a Bachelors of Arts Degree at the end of 2009. His latest work deals with the intersectionality of images imprinted during childhood, chaos theory and the active competition between the constructed image and visual culture's oversaturation of the manufactured/artificial image.
