About The Artwork
An original artwork created using charcoal. I like to focus on gesture both in brushstrokes and in the form to emphasise the life and movement that I see. The approach using charcoal mimics that of painting as broad strokes define the form. These strokes are intended to flow through the form without being overworked to capture the life of the model as they are first seen. The approach began as a visual interpretation of grunge music, where roughness is merged with rhythm. This lead to a loose but calculated form. The paper is 120gsm acid free artists paper. It has been sprayed with fixative and will be shipped unframed. Item will ship in a cardboard tube.
