About The Artwork
The style for this calligraphy is called "Yan Zhenqing style". Yan Zhenqing was a calligrapher in Tang Dynasty. His personal style helped him reach the immortal status in the field of regular script and became one of the most influential calligraphy masters in Chinese calligraphy history. The content is a poem about two cranes. One day when Yan Zhenqing visited a temple, the master monk told him a story about two cranes. One crane had been injured, another crane did not leave but stayed with the injured one. When the injured crane died, the other crane stopped eating and also died several days later. Yan Zhenqing was moved by this story and wrote this poem. He tried to express the feeling that a lot of animals care about each other very much and human beings should love and support each other more.
