About The Artwork

The Coleman Theater in Miami, Oklahoma as seen in 1931, when A. J. Purcell's Circus was in town for a performance. The original drawing is proudly hanging in the beautifully restored theater itself. The original work is proudly hanging in the theater itself. Miami is my home town, and it's experiencing an art-driven resurgence. The Coleman has long been the most luxurious entertainment venue in town, and this illustration shows what a swinging place it was in 1931, just two years after its opening.
